The long-pending Telangana Cabinet expansion is set to take place, with the Revanth Reddy-led government preparing for ministerial inductions. Sources indicate that the expansion is likely to be scheduled for Ugadi. The Congress leadership is reportedly considering appointing two ministers from the Backward Classes (BC) community, along with one each from the Reddy or Rao, Minority, Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories.
Among the BC leaders under consideration are Vakiti Srihari, Beerla Ilaiah, and Vijayashanti. Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, Sudarshan Reddy, and Premsagar Rao are being considered from the Reddy community. Vivek and Addanki Dayakar are in contention from the SC category, while Balu Naik and Ramchander Naik are among the potential candidates from the ST category. The Congress leadership is also reportedly planning to induct a new face from the Minority community.

At the time of his swearing-in, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy appointed 11 ministers, leaving six positions vacant. There has been persistent demand for the completion of the Cabinet, but the Congress high command had not given approval until now. Reports suggest that the high command has now cleared the expansion.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and Telangana PCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud traveled to Delhi on Monday. Sources indicate that their visit was prompted by discussions with the high command regarding the Cabinet expansion. With local body elections approaching, the Congress leadership is reportedly focused on strengthening its presence across districts by appointing ministers accordingly.
The Telangana Assembly Budget session is set to conclude on March 27, with the Cabinet expansion expected to take place on Ugadi or within a day of the festival.
