Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP is reportedly on the verge of finalizing its candidate for the Jubilee Hills by-election. The state unit has shortlisted three potential candidates—Lanka Deepak Reddy, Juturi Keerthi Reddy, and Veerapaneni Padma—and forwarded the list to the party high command for approval.
Internal discussions within the party indicate that the main contest is likely to be between Lanka Deepak Reddy and Juturi Keerthi Reddy. Party leaders are assessing the political prospects and local support base of each contender before making a final decision.
State BJP president N. Ramachandra Rao is scheduled to travel to Delhi tomorrow to meet senior national leaders and finalize the candidate.
An official announcement on the party’s nominee is expected to follow the Parliamentary Party Board meeting, which will ratify the decision.
