Hyderabad police have implemented extensive security measures for the upcoming Lionel Messi match at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal. CP Sudheer Babu confirmed that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, several state ministers, and prominent personalities from across India and abroad are expected to attend the event. To ensure safety, a three-tier security system has been deployed across the stadium and surrounding areas, with around 3,000 personnel on duty.
The stadium, which has a seating capacity of 39,000, will be monitored through 450 CCTV cameras and drone surveillance. Special teams have been formed to ensure women’s safety, while Messi will receive Z-category security. Additionally, a dedicated green channel facility has been arranged to facilitate smooth entry for VIPs. Fans have been advised not to congregate on roads without tickets and to use RTC buses or metro services to avoid traffic congestion around the stadium.
Authorities have established 34 parking zones near the stadium and provided clear instructions for efficient crowd management. To maintain security, laptops, cameras, helmets, bags, banners, water bottles, and outside food are strictly prohibited. All tickets and entry procedures will be digital, requiring QR code scanning for stadium access. Entry will commence four hours prior to the match, with spectators encouraged to arrive by 4 PM.
Pre-match entertainment, including musical performances and other short events, has been arranged to engage fans before the game. Police and stadium authorities have shared all security, transport, and entry protocols in advance to ensure the event is conducted safely and smoothly, providing a secure and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
