Hyderabad: Alarming revelations have surfaced in the Srushti Test Tube Baby Center case, where the clinic allegedly purchased babies from poor couples at low rates and sold them to childless families for lakhs of rupees. Investigations have uncovered that the operators collected sperm from beggars around Secunderabad railway station, offering them food and money, with suspicions that pornographic videos were used during the process.

North Zone Gopalapuram police seized extensive IVF and surrogacy records from the clinic, with nearly 200 couples reportedly registered. The Telangana State Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognizance based on media reports and directed the Principal Secretary of Health and Family Welfare to submit a detailed report by August 28.

Further investigations revealed that Srushti operates branches in Kukatpally, Kondapur, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Odisha, and Kolkata. Police have also raided Indian Sperm Tech, a company linked to Srushti, which allegedly collected sperm and eggs from hundreds of poor individuals and daily wage laborers, offering payments ranging from ₹800 to ₹4,000 for sperm and ₹10,000 to ₹25,000 for egg donations. The collected samples were reportedly transported to Ahmedabad.
