As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, AAP leader and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal faced a major setback with the resignation of seven sitting MLAs. The MLAs sent resignation letters to Kejriwal, citing their loss of confidence in the party. The resigned legislators include Bhavna Gaur (Paharganj), Rajesh Rishi (Janakpuri), Madan Lal (Kasturba Nagar), Rohit Mehrotra (Trilokpuri), Pawan Sharma (Adarsh Nagar), Naresh (Mehrauli), and BS Juneja (Bijwasan).

The MLAs stated that their decision to resign was due to a lack of trust in AAP’s leadership, and they requested Kejriwal to formally accept their resignations. Notably, AAP has not given tickets to any of these MLAs for the upcoming election, which is believed to have contributed to their departure from the party.

This resignation wave comes at a crucial time as AAP intensifies its campaign, promising various benefits to voters in its bid for a third consecutive term in office. The development has raised questions about the party’s internal dynamics as the February 5 election date approaches, with vote counting scheduled for February 8. The Delhi Assembly elections are set to witness a tough contest between AAP, BJP, and Congress, sparking national interest in the outcome.
