A major land scam in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, is reportedly making headlines, with allegations pointing to a fraudulent deal worth nearly Rs. 700 crore. The claims suggest that the scam occurred during the tenure of the YSR Congress Party (YSCP) government, involving forced registration of land in the name of Cheemakurthi Srikant.
Ibrahimpatnam Sub-Registrar, Dharma Singh, recently sent a letter to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, accusing Srikant and his wife, Ritu Chowdhury, of being involved in the scam. The letter stated that the land worth Rs. 700 crore was forcibly registered under their names. Additionally, it was mentioned that Ritu, Srikant’s second wife, also known as Vana Divya, had a role in the alleged land deal.

Srikant, however, responded to these accusations by stating that Dharma Singh had a history of accepting bribes while serving as a Sub-Registrar. The controversy intensified as photographs of Srikant and Ritu together further fueled speculations about their involvement in the scam. However, Ritu has yet to issue any statement regarding the allegations.
Ritu Chowdhury, who started her career as a TV anchor, became popular through serials, short films, and programs, especially after her entry into Jabardasth. She remains active on social media, posting photos that have drawn both admiration and criticism. As the investigation into the land scam continues, her involvement, if any, is yet to be fully clarified.
