Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited Pippiri in Adilabad district on Monday and addressed a public meeting, making key remarks on administrative boundaries. He stated that the central government has directed states not to alter the boundaries of districts, revenue divisions, and mandals until 2029. He assured that once these restrictions are lifted, the state government would consider revising boundaries based on public demand.
The Chief Minister criticized the previous government for neglecting the Tummidihatti project, alleging that it led to injustice for Adilabad district. He affirmed that his government would take up the project and ensure the supply of Godavari water to the region. He also announced that the foundation stone for an airport in Adilabad would be laid soon, along with plans to develop the district as a tourism and industrial hub.
He further stated that a university would be sanctioned for the district in the near future, with groundwork to begin shortly. In addition, the government plans to develop temples along the Godavari river stretch from Basara to Bhadrachalam to promote religious tourism and regional development.
Praising the people of Adilabad, Revanth Reddy described them as fighters against oppression, recalling the legacy of tribal leader Komaram Bheem who resisted the Nizam’s rule. He emphasized that his government does not treat opposition MLAs as enemies and noted that funds are being allocated even to constituencies without Congress representation. He added that opposition leaders are being invited to development programs and clarified that leaders of BRS and BJP are political rivals, not adversaries.
