Terrorist activities in India have once again raised alarms after Delhi police arrested an ISIS-linked suspect, prompting a series of coordinated operations across the country. Following the initial arrest, law enforcement agencies conducted raids in over a dozen locations based on intelligence provided by the suspect, detaining more than eight individuals. Among those arrested, the primary suspect, Aftab, was taken into custody in Mumbai, while another key suspect, Asher Danish, was apprehended in Ranchi.
The Ranchi operation was conducted jointly by Delhi Police, Jharkhand ATS, and local authorities. Danish, a resident of Petwar in Bokaro district, was arrested at a lodge in the Lower Bazar area of the city. Authorities recovered evidence linking him to terrorist organizations, along with several documents and other suspicious materials. Investigators are probing his connections with ISIS and other extremist groups to uncover broader networks and prevent further attacks.
In addition to the arrests in Mumbai and Ranchi, the NIA and Delhi Special Cell have intensified surveillance on individuals associated with ISIS. Another suspect was detained in Delhi, and NIA officials in Bodhan, Telangana, apprehended a person with confirmed terrorist links. These operations are part of India’s ongoing counter-terrorism efforts to disrupt extremist networks and ensure national security.
