Hyderabad: Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh on Monday clarified that there will be no by-election for his constituency, asserting that he will not join any other political party. He alleged that certain factions within the Telangana BJP conspired to ensure his resignation was accepted and expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s handling of internal issues.
Speaking to the media, Raja Singh said he had expected the BJP high command to conduct an inquiry into his resignation, which did not happen. He, however, expressed confidence that senior party leaders would summon him in the coming days for discussions, after which he would make a decision on rejoining the BJP.
Raja Singh revealed that many MPs and MLAs within the party are unhappy but hesitant to speak out. Dismissing reports of a phone conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he clarified that he had only briefly spoken to Shah during his visit to Begumpet Airport but could not detail all grievances due to time constraints.
The MLA criticized the lack of respect for elected representatives within the party and recalled that leaders like Jitender Reddy, Vijayashanti, and Nagam Janardhan Reddy had earlier left the BJP due to similar treatment. He stated that despite being ignored by local leaders, he continues to remain in contact with Union Ministers. Rejecting speculation about joining Shiv Sena, TDP, or Jana Sena, Raja Singh said these are BJP allies and that such reports are baseless. He also condemned comments made against him by Madhavi Latha.
Reaffirming his commitment to the BJP and Hindutva ideology, Raja Singh said he has campaigned for the party in Maharashtra and Karnataka, contributing to its growing vote bank. He emphasized that he has never considered himself above the party and would immediately resign as MLA if directed by the high command.
