Union Minister Kishan Reddy announced that the rail manufacturing unit in Kazipet, Hanumakonda district, is expected to be operational by August next year. This facility will produce goods wagons, engines, and railway coaches, including modern LHB coaches with German technology and electric multiple units for suburban rail. The unit is planned to produce up to 600 coaches annually, generating employment for around 3,000 people.

Charlapalli Terminal Launch in November
Reddy mentioned that a Periodic Overhauling (POH) project was previously approved for Kazipet and has since been expanded due to Prime Minister Modi’s initiative. The project’s estimated cost has increased to ₹680 crore. Additionally, the Charlapalli railway terminal is set for inauguration in November, and sleeper Vande Bharat trains will soon be introduced to the state. The Secunderabad station redevelopment, a ₹720 crore project, is expected to be completed by December 2025.

Modernization of 40 Stations
The tendering process for redeveloping Nampally and Kachiguda stations is complete, and a total of 40 stations across Telangana will undergo modernization. Reddy also stated that proposals for 15 new projects, valued at ₹64,780 crore, are in the final location survey stage. Among these, the Regional Ring Rail project will require additional time to reach implementation.
