The Finance Ministry of Andhra Pradesh has acknowledged the current challenges in presenting a comprehensive budget in the upcoming Assembly session. To address this, it has put forward a proposal to introduce an ordinance extending the existing Vote on Account Budget. This measure is intended to provide financial continuity and flexibility for the next four months.

The Assembly session, tentatively scheduled for after the 22nd of this month, will likely see deliberations on this ordinance. The Finance Ministry has projected that it will require approximately two months to gain a clearer understanding of the financial status across various departments. This period will allow for a more informed decision-making process regarding the state’s fiscal policies.

Looking ahead, the Finance Ministry anticipates that a complete and detailed budget can be presented by September. This proposal has been discussed with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, and the Finance Department is awaiting his approval to proceed with the ordinance.
