Patna: While the NDA secured a decisive victory in the recent Bihar Assembly elections, the Jan Suraj Party led by Prashant Kishor failed to win a single seat. Reacting to the results on Sunday, Kishore made serious allegations against the ruling coalition, claiming misuse of public funds.

He alleged that the NDA government misappropriated Rs 14,000 crore of World Bank funds earmarked for various development projects. Kishore also claimed that Rs 10,000 deposited into the accounts of women across Bihar ahead of the elections was later withdrawn, and that the Nitish Kumar-led government spent Rs 40,000 crore from June until the election notification to “buy votes.” He demanded a comprehensive investigation by the Election Commission (EC) into these allegations.

Ahead of the elections, the NDA had deposited Rs 10,000 each into the accounts of 75 lakh women under the “Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana,” a scheme described by Prime Minister Modi as financial support for self-employment and women’s empowerment. The state government also announced that further financial assistance, up to ₹2 lakh, would be provided in phases for sectors such as animal husbandry, agriculture, and tailoring.
