Hyderabad: The Telangana Police Officers’ Association has strongly condemned the remarks made by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) against the state police. KTR, during recent public interactions, alleged that police were filing unnecessary cases against BRS workers and questioned whether an attempt-to-murder case would be booked against the wife of BRS student leader Gellu Srinivas. He went on to question the DGP, asking, “Are you working with a proper head on your shoulders?” and warned officials to take note of those “crossing limits”, asserting that the BRS would return to power and settle scores.
Reacting sharply, Association president Y. Gopireddy termed KTR’s comments as an attack on the democratic functioning of the police. He stated that it was unacceptable to insult officers who were registering cases in accordance with the law. The association made it clear that if such statements were repeated, they would initiate legal action against KTR under relevant provisions.
