Islamabad: In response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, India had taken a series of stringent measures against Pakistan, including suspension of Indus water sharing, closure of the Attari border, and sealing of its airspace. While the Attari border was subsequently reopened, restrictions on Indus waters and Indian airspace usage remain in effect.
As a countermeasure, Pakistan also closed its airspace to Indian flights and has not lifted the ban since. Now, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority has further extended the airspace restrictions. The ban will apply to all flights operated by Indian airlines, as well as leased civilian and military aircraft. The ban will be effective from July 19 at 3:50 PM IST and remain in force until August 24 at 5:19 AM.
