New Delhi: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday sharply criticised Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir following India’s airstrike on the Rahim Yar Khan airbase. The strike, carried out as part of ‘Operation Sindoor’, was a retaliatory measure after the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.

Owaisi took to social media to question whether the Pakistani leadership could still land Chinese-leased aircraft at the Rahim Yar Khan base, which has reportedly remained non-operational since the airstrike. “Can Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir land the leased Chinese aircraft at the airbase now?” Owaisi posted, citing reports that the runway has been out of service for nearly a week.

He further alleged that despite attempts by Pakistan to launch drone and missile attacks on Indian targets after the strike, Indian defence forces successfully intercepted or neutralised them.

Owaisi also directed criticism towards China, highlighting its support to Pakistan amid the ongoing military tensions with India. His remarks come at a time when regional security dynamics remain strained, with international observers closely monitoring developments between the nuclear-armed neighbours.
