The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a key notification regarding the NEET UG 2026 re-examination, which is being conducted following the alleged paper leak in the May 3 examination. The agency announced that it has launched an online portal on May 21, 2026, to facilitate the fee refund process for affected candidates. Students can access the facility through the official website, [NEET Official Website](https://neet.nta.nic.in?utm_source=chatgpt.com).
According to the NTA, candidates appearing for the re-examination will not be required to pay any additional examination fee. To claim the refund, applicants must log in to the official portal and submit valid bank account details. The agency stated that the refund process has been streamlined to ensure quick disbursal for eligible candidates.
The NEET UG 2026 re-test is scheduled to be held on June 21 from 2 PM to 5:15 PM in offline mode across the country. More than 22 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the medical entrance examination. The re-exam is being conducted amid heightened scrutiny after allegations of a question paper leak triggered nationwide concerns over the integrity of the examination process.
To support candidates facing relocation or address changes, the NTA has also opened a correction window allowing students to update their present address and examination city preferences. Candidates can make the necessary changes through the official website until 11:50 PM on May 21. However, the agency clarified that the newly allotted examination centre may differ from the previous one depending on seat availability and city preferences.
The NTA further stated that while examination centre preferences can be modified, no changes will be permitted in the examination medium selected during the application process. Candidates have been advised to regularly monitor the official website for updates related to admit cards, examination schedules, fee refunds, and other important announcements regarding the NEET UG 2026 re-examination process.
