New Delhi: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday alleged that BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) is deliberately avoiding both the state Assembly and public interactions. Speaking to the media in the national capital, Bhatti remarked that the former Chief Minister has remained absent from legislative proceedings and is distancing himself from the people, adding, “We are not aware of what decision he has taken.”

Addressing recent criticisms from BRS leaders, Bhatti said their statements have been excessive and unfounded. He clarified that the Congress government in Telangana functions through collective leadership, stating there is no “power-sharing” model in place. “Our administration is working as a team,” he affirmed. Highlighting the government’s achievements, Bhatti noted that the state has implemented 100% farm loan waivers, enhanced Aarogyasri health coverage to ₹10 lakh, distributed subsidised gas cylinders at Rs 500, provided free electricity up to 200 units, and launched successful initiatives such as the fine rice distribution and free bus travel for women.

He added that major infrastructure projects like the Fourth City, Musi River beautification, and the Regional Ring Road are progressing under the current administration. He dismissed any possibility of a “double engine government” in the state and confirmed that the Congress high command, including Mallikarjun Kharge and K.C. Venugopal, expressed full satisfaction with the government’s performance during the recent Political Affairs Committee meeting.
