The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out significant raids in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, as part of an ongoing investigation into a case involving the transportation of weapons and explosives to Maoist groups. Raids were conducted at the residences of seven accused individuals. In addition to Andhra Pradesh, similar operations were executed in Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
During the raids, the NIA successfully seized digital devices, documents, and other evidence. In connection with the case, two individuals have already been apprehended.

investigation Based on Chittoor Police Case
The raids stemmed from a case registered by the Chittoor police in September 2024. The NIA registered an FIR based on this case and reported the seizure of explosives, revolutionary literature, and cash from some of the accused.
The agency identified a network responsible for supplying large quantities of weapons and materials to Maoist groups. Additionally, the NIA uncovered a conspiracy targeting police forces assigned to election duties, with plans aimed at assassinating officers. The investigation highlights the scale of the operations connected to Maoist networks and their attempts to destabilize security forces deployed during crucial electoral periods.
