A tragic road accident occurred in Nepal when a bus carrying 40 passengers lost control and fell into a river. According to Nepalese police, the incident happened in Tanahun district where the bus plunged into the Marsyangdi River. The passengers on board were reported to be Indian nationals. The accident took place while the bus was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
The bus, with the license plate ‘UP FT 7623’ from Uttar Pradesh, was found lying on the riverbank after the fall, as stated by DSP Deep Kumar Rai from the Tanahun district police office. The Uttar Pradesh government has been in touch with local police regarding the incident and is coordinating relief efforts. UP Relief Commissioner confirmed that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has been briefed on the rescue operations. The accident resulted in 14 fatalities and 16 people sustaining serious injuries. Rescue operations are ongoing.
