The ongoing Musi River rejuvenation controversy has intensified political tensions in Telangana. BJP Union Minister Kishan Reddy has accepted Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s challenge, which questioned whether leaders opposing the project could sleep by the riverbanks.

Speaking to the media, Kishan Reddy announced plans to dine along the Musi River on Saturday and stay overnight in the homes of local residents.

Kishan Reddy asserted that the BJP is ready to camp by the Musi River for three months if required. “Our stand is clear: rejuvenate the Musi without displacing the poor. Demolishing their homes in the name of the project is unacceptable,” he remarked.

He accused the Congress government of failing to honor its promises to Telangana’s people and criticized Revanth Reddy for allegedly following the same governance approach as the previous BRS administration.

Allegations Against Congress
Kishan Reddy accused the Congress of using job notifications initiated by the BRS government while failing to release new ones. He also commented on the Kodangal Pharma Village land acquisition issue, where farmers were reportedly jailed following clashes, labeling it as poor governance.

“Whether it’s factory establishment or land acquisition, dialogue with farmers is crucial. The situation in Kodangal highlights the administration’s disregard for such practices,” he said.

As the Musi River debate continues, it has become a focal point of political contention in Telangana, with parties leveraging the issue to highlight governance challenges.
