The latest Mood of the Nation (MOTN) survey, conducted by Sea-Voter in collaboration with India Today, has once again ranked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as the country’s most popular CM. According to the findings, Yogi secured a 36% approval rating, marking a slight increase from previous surveys. This is the third consecutive time he has topped the list, with his firm decisions, law-and-order enforcement, and the widely publicized “bulldozer model” cited as key factors behind his popularity. The survey, held between July 1 and August 14, 2025, collected responses from 54,788 people across India and analyzed an additional 1,52,038 interviews from Sea-Voter’s tracker database, bringing the total to 2,06,826.

The results placed West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in second position with 13% support, followed by Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu at 7%. Among smaller states, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma emerged as the most popular. Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy was not featured in the list. The survey noted that Yogi’s governance initiatives—including improved law and order, anti-corruption measures, and development programs—have significantly boosted his image nationwide, despite mixed reviews within his own state.
The report further highlighted his growing stature within the BJP, with 26% of respondents favoring him as the party’s next prime ministerial candidate, second only to Union Home Minister Amit Shah at 28%, after Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This outcome has sparked fresh debate within political circles about the future leadership of the BJP.
