Hyderabad: MLC Kavitha has been suspended from the BRS party, following allegations that her recent conduct has harmed the party’s interests. On Monday, she made sensational claims against former minister Harish Rao and former MP Santosh Kumar regarding the Kaleshwaram project, accusing them and Megha Krishnareddy of corruption and claiming that the project had blemishes affecting party chief KCR.
The remarks triggered strong outrage among party cadres, who demanded Kavitha’s suspension. In response, former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao decided to suspend her. The BRS official statement said: “Kavitha’s recent behavior and continued anti-party activities have harmed the BRS party. The party is taking this matter very seriously. Party president K. Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to suspend Kavitha from the party.”

Kavitha’s suspension has fueled speculation about her next political move. Reports indicate she may launch a new party under the name Telangana Jagruti, focusing on BC issues. Some sources suggest she might adopt the name Telangana Bahujan Rashtra Samithi (TBRS), while others hint she could retain elements of the old TRS brand.
Her suspension has created a major stir in Telangana’s political landscape, raising questions about the balance of power and the emergence of new political alternatives in the state.
