Hyderabad: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has addressed an open letter to the Telangana government, demanding the cancellation and re-conduct of the Group-1 exams. Kavitha expressed her concerns over the government’s apparent negligence in conducting the exams, stating that it has severely impacted the lives of unemployed youth. She emphasized the lack of transparency in the recruitment process, which has been clearly evident in this case.

In her letter, Kavitha criticized the government’s handling of the exams and called it unjust to toy with the lives of the youth. She raised concerns about the confusion surrounding the conduct of the exams and the release of the results, highlighting issues with the allocation of different hall ticket numbers for the prelims and mains, which caused significant confusion among candidates.

Kavitha also questioned the inconsistency in the number of candidates appearing for the exams. The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) initially reported that 21,075 candidates attended the mains exams. However, by the time the results were announced, the number increased to 21,085, raising suspicions about how this discrepancy occurred.

Additionally, Kavitha pointed out the issues surrounding the biometric attendance system, questioning why discrepancies appeared despite its implementation. She demanded clarification on whether the additional candidates truly attended the exams or were added later.

Concerns were also raised over the evaluation process, with Kavitha noting that while the TSPSC had initially announced that top university professors would handle the evaluation, retired professors were instead entrusted with the task. This, too, raised doubts among candidates about the fairness of the evaluation.

Kavitha further highlighted the irregularity in the exam centers. While the TSPSC initially announced that the exams would be conducted across 45 centers, they later added another center. More importantly, she pointed out that 71 candidates from two coaching centers, who appeared at just two centers, were selected for the jobs, fueling suspicion among other candidates.

The TSPSC confirmed that these 71 candidates were selected from the two centers. Kavitha concluded that the concerns raised by the candidates were valid and that the Telangana High Court had recognized these issues, halting the recruitment process.
