In an emotional outburst in the Legislative Council, MLC Kavitha, the daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, accused plotting against her and forcing her out of the party. She called on Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy to accept her resignation, adding that her departure was driven by a sense of personal disgrace. After her emotional speech, Kavitha paid tribute to the martyrs at Gun Park and spoke to the media, unveiling her decision to launch Telangana Jagruthi as a political force in the state.
Kavitha expressed her deep disillusionment with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), stating that despite her long-standing involvement, only a few like her were given opportunities within the party. She criticized the TRS leadership for neglecting the real Telangana activists while benefiting political opportunists. Kavitha also slammed the TRS government for failing to address critical issues, such as providing clean water to Greater Hyderabad, despite spending millions. She emphasized the need for a new political platform to address these issues and provide a voice for the marginalized sections of society.
In her announcement, Kavitha unveiled that Telangana Jagruthi would contest in the upcoming elections, aiming to serve as a political platform for the youth, women, Dalits, and minorities. She also called on left-wing parties and Maoist sympathizers to join the movement, stressing that the party would fight for a fair and just Telangana. Kavitha added that Telangana Jagruthi would provide opportunities for those who have been sidelined by the current political system, focusing on issues like unemployment and women’s rights. She affirmed that the new political party would stand firm against the current government and offer fresh leadership for the people of Telangana.
