Hyderabad: The Miyapur police have registered cases against several Tollywood celebrities in connection with the promotion of betting apps. Actors Vijay Deverakonda, Prakash Raj, Manchu Lakshmi, Ananya, Rana Daggubati, Pranitha, and anchor Shyamala are among the 25 individuals named in the case.
Additionally, television personalities, including Shobha Shetty, Siri Hanmanthu, Nayani Pavani, Sreemukhi, Vishnupriya, Ritu Choudhary, Harsha Sai, and Bhayya Sunny Yadav, have also been booked.

Vishnupriya appeared for questioning today along with her legal counsel. Previously, the Panjagutta police had filed cases against several influencers, including Vishnupriya, Tasty Teja, Ritu Choudhary, Supreeta, and Shyamala, for promoting betting platforms.

Meanwhile, Telangana RTC MD Sajjanar has intensified the crackdown on betting apps, with authorities filing cases against individuals from both the film and television industries. Officials have linked these platforms to multiple suicides and financial distress. Reports indicate that those found guilty of promoting betting apps that resulted in fatalities could face up to 10 years of imprisonment.
