Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu issued a stern warning that any interference with the Telangana Comprehensive Family Survey or attempts to spread misinformation among the public would be met with strict action. He highlighted that the survey, initiated per Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s directives, is designed to drive substantial social changes across the state. Responding to criticisms, Sridhar Babu pointed out that while BRS leaders question the need for a new enumeration given existing data from prior administrations, this survey promises a more precise and updated understanding of family demographics.
Sridhar Babu called on BRS and BJP to clarify their opposition to the survey, stressing that it includes comprehensive social, economic, educational, and caste data. He criticized the BJP-led central government for delaying the national census since 2011, depriving marginalized communities of crucial data needed for equitable support. He emphasized that this survey aims to provide targeted assistance for BC, SC, and ST communities, promoting social justice and economic empowerment.
The Minister also urged the public to disregard rumors that the survey data would be used to remove pensions and ration cards, assuring that the government’s sole objective is to ensure benefits reach all eligible individuals based on reliable population data. He advised BRS and BJP leaders to support the enumeration, suggesting that a positive response would strengthen their political credibility. Sridhar Babu concluded by urging citizens to stay at home and cooperate with survey teams to facilitate the process effectively.
