Vijayawada: Widespread rumors about potential flooding in areas such as New R.R. Peta and Jakkampudi Colony in Vijayawada have been circulating, with concerns of the Budameru River overflowing. However, Municipal Affairs Minister Narayana has quickly addressed the situation, assuring the public that there is no threat of a flood.
Minister Narayana confirmed that there is no risk of the Budameru embankment breaching, calling the rumors baseless. He stated that after speaking with VMC Commissioner Dhyana Chandra and ENC Gopala Krishna Reddy, he gathered full information on the matter and urged the public to remain calm.
“Vijayawada is completely safe. The reports about the Budameru embankment breaking are entirely false, and there is no need for panic,” said Narayana.
Meanwhile, the police and officials from the Collector’s office are taking action against those spreading false information. Authorities have warned the public not to believe rumors and reassured citizens that the situation is under control. Efforts are being made to apprehend the individuals responsible for creating confusion and unrest.
