In a recent statement, Minister Lokesh launched a strong critique against YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief and former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Lokesh questioned Jagan’s credibility and integrity, accusing him of engaging in baseless political attacks while demanding opposition status.
Lokesh criticized Jagan for allegedly failing to contribute to flood relief efforts, suggesting that Jagan would have been abroad if not for passport issues, instead of addressing the needs of flood victims. He took a swipe at Jagan’s criticism of Chandrababu Naidu, who, despite his age of 74, has been actively involved in providing relief to those affected by the floods.
On Twitter (X), Lokesh highlighted that Jagan has no record of offering even minimal aid during crises, such as distributing basic relief items. He accused Jagan of halting crucial modernization work on the Budameru project, a scheme initiated by Naidu with an allocation of ₹464 crores. Lokesh labeled the recent floods as a “Jagan-made disaster,” attributing the crisis to Jagan’s mismanagement.
Furthermore, Lokesh alleged that YSRCP leaders have encroached upon approximately 600 acres of land, valued at ₹500 crores, with insufficient maintenance over the past five years. He also criticized the halt in stormwater drain construction in Vijayawada. Lokesh concluded by stating that the current government’s failures are the root cause of the suffering endured by the people and vowed to address all issues, promising to continue efforts until every flood victim receives the necessary aid.
