Telangana Minister Konda Surekha has stirred political controversy with her remarks targeting Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari. Speaking to the media on Friday, she alleged that Srihari feels uncomfortable sitting before her in meetings and is spreading baseless rumours about her losing her ministerial post. She claimed that Srihari has been misleading Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy with false information. Drawing a comparison to his political conduct in the TDP, she accused him of attempting similar manoeuvres within the Congress. Surekha further added that ministerial positions are often a matter of timing and fortune, stating, “I became a minister when luck favoured me, and he did the same when it favoured him.”

The Minister also referenced the political journeys of their daughters, asserting that her daughter did not win an MLA seat due to lack of luck, whereas Srihari’s daughter became an MP because of favourable circumstances. She criticised Srihari for allegedly attempting to remove her from her current post, calling such actions unjustified. Her remarks have since gained significant attention and have become a topic of widespread discussion in state political circles.

Factionalism Resurfaces in Warangal Congress

In a related development, factionalism within the Warangal unit of the Congress party has once again come to the surface. In response to controversial remarks made by former MLC Konda Murali, several senior leaders and MLAs convened at the camp office of Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy. The meeting was attended by Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari, Parkal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy, Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Satyanarayana Rao, Warangal MP Kavya, and others. Former Minister Baswaraju Saraiah and former MP Satyavati Rathod were also reportedly present.

Following the meeting, Naini Rajender Reddy stated that it is inappropriate for senior leaders to make irresponsible statements that could harm the party’s image. He urged leaders not to use the BC identity card to create divisions and damage the party. Reddy appealed to the party high command to take the situation seriously and take appropriate action to maintain unity within the party.
