Telangana Minister Konda Surekha made headline-grabbing remarks on Tuesday during a media interaction in Hanmakonda, alleging that some members of the Reddy community are attempting to lobby against her to undermine her authority. She highlighted that any initiative she undertakes as a minister tends to attract controversy, which is why she prefers to execute her responsibilities quietly and efficiently.
Surekha emphasized that she does not rely on lobbying in Delhi or Hyderabad to get her work done. “Whatever needs to be done, I directly communicate with the party leadership and carry out my duties without external interference,” she stated. She asserted that she is fully aware of her ministerial responsibilities and remains focused on her role regardless of public speculation.

Addressing her working style, the minister said she prefers transparency and speed in executing tasks. On the Medaram tender issue, she clarified that she holds no personal differences and that three companies submitted tenders, with eligibility criteria being strictly adhered to. This, she noted, demonstrates her commitment to fairness and procedural integrity.
Regarding actor Nagarjuna, Surekha mentioned that her remarks were misrepresented by some media reports. She reiterated that she is deliberately maintaining a low-profile approach in her departmental work while ensuring that her actions remain aligned with transparency, efficiency, and adherence to party directives.
