Due to a global Microsoft outage, 23 domestic flights were canceled at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Friday. The IT service disruption forced airlines to cancel 12 departures and 11 arrivals, according to airport sources. As of the afternoon, 23 flights had been canceled, and with IT services still down, this number could rise throughout the day.
“We are working closely with all stakeholders to minimize inconvenience to our passengers. Please contact your airline for updates on flight information,” RGIA advised passengers.
Many flyers were checking with airlines for updates on their flights. Passengers who arrived at the airport only to find their flights canceled were seen enquiring about refunds or the potential restoration of services.
