Medaram, the sacred venue of Sammakka–Saralamma Jatara in Mulugu district, has transformed into a massive center of devotion as the grand tribal festival is set to begin in the coming days. Thousands of devotees have already arrived at Medaram, offering prayers and fulfilling vows to the forest goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma. Devotees, believing the deities grant boons to sincere worshippers, are offering gold and immersing themselves in spiritual fervor.

As part of special arrangements for the Jatara, helicopter services have been introduced at Medaram. The Tourism Department has launched helicopter joy rides to provide devotees with a bird’s-eye view of the Jatara from Elubaka in Tadvai mandal. A helipad has been set up at Padigapur for this purpose.

The helicopter services will be available from today. A 6–7 minute aerial joy ride over the Jatara is priced at ₹4,800 per person. Additionally, a round-trip helicopter service from Hanumakonda to Medaram has been fixed at ₹35,999 per person. These services will be operational daily from 8:00 AM to 5:20 PM until January 31.

For the convenience of devotees, another helipad has been established at the Arts and Science College grounds in Hanumakonda. From Thursday (January 22), helicopter services from Hanumakonda to Medaram will be available for ten days. The Tourism Department stated that these rides have been arranged to allow devotees to witness the grandeur of the Medaram Jatara from the sky.
