Jayashankar Bhupalpally: A major fire accident was reported at the Medigadda Barrage of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project in Telangana’s Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Saturday. The blaze erupted at the camp office of L&T, the construction company involved in the prestigious irrigation project, triggering panic in the surrounding area.
According to preliminary information, the fire broke out suddenly and spread rapidly through the camp office premises. Thick black smoke billowed into the sky, causing alarm among project staff, workers, and local residents. Eyewitnesses said flames quickly engulfed parts of the office before emergency services reached the spot.

Following the incident, locals and project personnel immediately alerted the Fire Department. Firefighters rushed to the location with multiple fire engines and launched intensive operations to bring the flames under control. Efforts to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures were also taken up on a war footing.
Officials said the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Authorities are currently assessing the extent of damage caused to property and equipment in the incident. Police and other departments have initiated an investigation into the fire accident.
