Hyderabad: The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has begun releasing results for various previously conducted examinations, including the provisional marks list for the Group 1 exam announced today. However, MRPS (Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi) President Mandakrishna Madiga has strongly opposed this move, demanding that all job exam results be withheld until the Scheduled Caste (SC) classification is implemented.
Revanth Reddy Urged to Honor Commitment on SC Classification
Mandakrishna Madiga criticized the state government, asserting that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had previously assured the implementation of SC classification for past job notifications. He urged the CM to uphold this commitment before proceeding with recruitment processes.
Delay Due to Election Code, Says TSPSC
TSPSC had initially planned to release the exam results earlier, but they were postponed due to the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct for the MLC elections. With the code now lifted, the commission published the Group 1 provisional marks list today and is set to release the Group 2 general rank cards tomorrow.
Madiga Questions Recruitment Without SC Classification
Mandakrishna Madiga pointed out that during former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu’s tenure, an SC classification law was enacted, incorporating a provision ensuring its application to all previous job notifications. He urged the Telangana government to review and implement similar measures.
Dismissing arguments that SC classification cannot be applied retrospectively as misinformation, he stated that if Revanth Reddy demonstrates the same commitment as Chandrababu, classification can be enforced in all job recruitments. He also questioned why rulings against SC classification are implemented swiftly, while favorable judgments face delays.
Statewide Protests Against Job Recruitment Process
The MRPS chief accused the Congress government of betraying the Madiga community by proceeding with exam result announcements before enacting the SC classification law. He demanded the suspension of results for Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Hostel Warden, Extension Officers, and other recruitment notifications.
He further warned that the MRPS would escalate protests against what he termed as injustice by the Revanth Reddy administration. Ongoing statewide demonstrations will intensify, including peaceful sit-ins, road blockades, and planned sieges of Tahsildar and Collector offices to press their demands.
