Delhi is set to host the AI Impact Summit on February 19–20, drawing global attention as tech leaders Google CEO Sundar Pichai and OpenAI founder Sam Altman are scheduled to participate. The summit is attracting representatives from multiple countries, leading to a sharp spike in hotel room rates. Luxury suites that typically cost around ₹2 lakh per night have surged to as much as ₹32 lakh during the event.
According to national media reports, the Garden Luxury Suite at Taj Palace is priced at ₹32 lakh per night, including taxes, while the Signature Suite at Andaz Delhi, part of the Hyatt group, is available at ₹3.86 lakh. Animesh Kumar, Commercial Head of IBS and IBS India, noted that domestic and international delegates attending the summit have caused room rates to increase two to three times their normal levels.
Hotels under the Lalit Suri Hospitality Group have almost fully booked their rooms for February 19–20. Hotel Manager Vineet Kapoor confirmed that they are hosting seven international leaders and delegates, with special security arrangements in place. Management has also ensured that attendees have access to detailed information on local tourist attractions and facilities.
The summit is expected to host approximately 35,000 delegates from nearly 100 countries, making it the largest AI event in India and the first AI summit held in the Global South. Around 15–20 heads of state, several foreign ministers, and over 500 leading AI industry figures are expected to participate. Experts say the successful organization of this summit could pave the way for more international tech conferences in Delhi in the future.
