Hyderabad: Tensions within the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) appear to be escalating, with party working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) issuing a veiled but stern warning—widely interpreted as directed at his sister, party MLC K. Kavitha—amid a growing controversy over a leaked letter addressed to party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).
Speaking to the media, KTR stated that anyone in the party has the right to write letters or offer suggestions to the leadership, reaffirming BRS’s commitment to internal democracy. “There is nothing wrong with writing to the party president. Our party allows democratic expression. But internal matters are best discussed internally,” KTR said. He added, “Every party has covert elements. When the time comes, they will expose themselves.”

His remarks come in the wake of a letter—allegedly written by Kavitha to her father and party president KCR—being leaked to the public, causing political ripples across Telangana.
Responding to the controversy, MLC Kavitha confirmed that she had indeed written the letter. “I wrote it two weeks ago. I was away for my son’s convocation. I am shocked to see the letter leaked,” she said. Expressing concern over internal sabotage, Kavitha alleged that conspiracies and manipulations were being carried out within the party. “KCR is like God to me, but some demons have surrounded him,” she remarked.
Kavitha questioned how a confidential letter intended for internal discussion reached opposition parties like the Congress and BJP. She reiterated that KCR remains her leader and confirmed that she wrote the letter with the party’s interests in mind.
The public exchange has intensified the spotlight on internal dynamics within the BRS, with both senior leaders calling for introspection while emphasizing party unity.
