Hyderabad: BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) lashed out at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, stating that the people of Telangana had been “severely deceived” by placing their trust in a “fraudulent leader.” He claimed the state had been left with “nothing but an empty shell” under the Congress-led government.
Addressing a party workers’ meeting in Malkajgiri, KTR said the false promises made by Revanth Reddy and the Congress party had pushed the lives of people into distress. “Being deceived once is the fault of the deceiver, but being deceived repeatedly is our own mistake. This time, regardless of the election, the Congress must be rejected,” he cautioned.
KTR appealed to voters not to repeat the same mistake in the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections and all future polls. “The Congress must be decisively rejected. Despite the state’s regression under this government, only Revanth Reddy seems to be celebrating,” he remarked.
Highlighting internal dissatisfaction, KTR said even Congress ministers, MLAs, and party workers were disillusioned with the current administration. “The public’s plight speaks for itself. This is the result of a failed governance model,” he added.
The BRS leader praised Malkajgiri MLA Rajasekhar Reddy for his proactive approach in addressing public concerns. “He has consistently worked to resolve key local issues, including those related to the dumping yard, and has stood up against the government’s failures,” KTR noted. “He has proven that electing a good leader can lead to meaningful change.”
Calling upon people to teach both the Congress and BJP a lesson, KTR said, “If Telangana’s self-respect and identity are to be protected, the BRS is the only party capable of doing so.”
He also urged party members to make the upcoming BRS Silver Jubilee celebrations on April 27 a grand success. “Our 25-year journey is a proud milestone for every party worker. Being the second-most successful party in the Telugu-speaking states is a significant achievement,” he said. On this occasion, several leaders from the Congress and BJP joined the BRS in the presence of KTR.
