An attack on officials during a consultation for a proposed pharmaceutical company in Lagacherla, Kodangal, in Vikarabad district part of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s constituency has sparked widespread debate across Telangana. Villagers reportedly assaulted the District Collector and officials, a move the Congress party claims was instigated by the BRS party, though BRS denies these allegations.

BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) responded to the incident, stating that the Kodangal attack has deeply affected the government, accusing the administration of misrepresenting the issue to the public. KTR further noted that while Maoist groups commented on the incident, key figures like Haragopal and Kodandaram have remained silent. He clarified that BRS worker Suresh, who owns seven acres of land, is involved, assuring that “we will return in four years.” KTR also dismissed the remand report for BRS ex-MLA Patnam Narendra Reddy, calling it “bogus.”

He further addressed issues around Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, asserting that he and his brothers are acquiring more land in Veldanda. “Congress leaders are demanding funds from Revanth, which is pushing him to stage this drama,” KTR added, urging Revanth to “stop the act.”

BRS Ex-MLA Arrested, High Court Hearing Pending

Patnam Narendra Reddy, a former BRS MLA and the primary accused in the Lagacherla incident, was arrested by police and has already filed a bail petition. The High Court is scheduled to hear his petition on Monday. KTR indicated that BRS would escalate the matter to the National Women’s Commission and central government, especially following allegations of police misconduct in the handling of a female protestor’s family.
