Hyderabad: Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy made a series of controversial remarks during an informal media interaction on Saturday. Taking a dig at actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna, he questioned the popularity of his films and sarcastically noted that despite more people taking photographs with him than Balakrishna, the latter’s movies still manage to generate collections.

Further criticizing the BRS, Komatireddy called its leaders “hollow men” and accused them of misusing the Dharani portal for illegal gains. He also made remarks about BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and former minister Harish Rao, referring to them as “foster son” and “foster nephew,” respectively. He ridiculed their leadership, stating they were not even deputy leaders and questioned the relevance of engaging with them.
The minister also took aim at former BRS minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, describing him as a “dummy minister” during the previous administration. He alleged that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari did not even recognize Prashanth Reddy and criticized him for making irrational statements. Komatireddy asserted that he personally took up the Uppal-Narapally flyover project with Gadkari.
He further stated that the BRS leadership had become reliant on rhetoric and announced that tenders for the redevelopment of Osmania Hospital would be invited soon.
