Hyderabad: Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Saturday made strong remarks against BRS chief and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), urging him to appear in the Assembly to address the Kaleshwaram Commission report. With Assembly sessions commencing, Komatireddy stated that if KCR chooses not to attend, it would amount to an admission of mistakes in the project. He emphasized that KCR owes an explanation to the people of Telangana and alleged that KCR’s absence reflects fear, which also prompted legal intervention.
During interactions in the Assembly premises, Komatireddy engaged in a light-hearted exchange with Congress leader Uttam Kumar Reddy ahead of the report’s tabling. Komatireddy reiterated that KCR should attend the Assembly and, if he fails to do so, should resign as Leader of the Opposition, suggesting that the responsibilities be handed over to Harish Rao. He questioned why KCR continues to hold the opposition leader post when leaders like Harish Rao and KTR actively participate in Assembly debates.
The Congress also criticized KCR for skipping the session. MLAs Vijayashanthi and Addanki Dayakar, along with Shankar Nayak, paid tributes to Amaraveerulu at Gun Park before addressing the media. They demanded that KCR attend the Assembly and speak on the Kaleshwaram project, questioning the legitimacy of holding office without representing the people. Vijayashanthi called for KCR’s resignation if he refuses to participate, while Addanki Dayakar stressed that KCR must answer questions about the project rather than addressing supporters at his farmhouse.
