China’s encroachments along its borders with India, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh, are becoming increasingly concerning. China has frequently claimed Arunachal Pradesh as its own territory and continues to assert these claims despite international objections. Recent reports suggest that Chinese troops have breached border areas and marked territory with paint.
In response, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that merely marking areas with paint does not equate to territorial encroachment. He emphasized that China has not claimed any of India’s territory and that while it is true that Chinese forces occasionally cross into Indian territory, they have not made any further advances. Rijiju assured that permanent structures cannot be constructed by China in Arunachal Pradesh due to the stringent monitoring by Indian forces. He further clarified that Indian troops are maintaining strict surveillance in border areas, and no one is permitted near the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
