In a disturbing revelation from Guntur, a man named Madhubabu has come forward alleging that he was ensnared in a kidney racket due to financial difficulties. According to Madhubabu, he sold his kidney under false promises and now accuses doctors, middlemen, and the kidney recipient of cheating him.
Madhubabu claims that despite being assured Rs. 30 lakh, he received only Rs. 1 lakh after the surgery. Moreover, he asserts that he intended to donate his left kidney but was misled into giving away his functional right kidney. His health has reportedly worsened since the procedure.
Speaking exclusively to RTV, Madhubabu revealed that he resorted to selling his kidney after connecting with potential recipients through Facebook. Allegedly, Basha from Vijayawada offered him the substantial sum for the transplant, which was conducted at Vijaya Super Speciality Hospital in Vijayawada.
Madhubabu has lodged serious accusations against Dr. Sharath Babu, the intermediary Basha, and the kidney recipient Venkataswamy, demanding justice and stringent action against those responsible for his plight.
In response, the hospital’s management, represented by Dr. G. Sarath Babu, refuted Madhubabu’s claims, asserting that the allegations regarding the kidney transplant treatment were baseless. Dr. Babu emphasized that the surgery had received approval from the Organ Transport Committee and suggested interviewing the kidney recipient for further clarity.
Authorities are now investigating the matter to ascertain the veracity of Madhubabu’s allegations and to ensure appropriate action is taken against any wrongdoing involved in the alleged kidney racket.
