BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao has announced Dasoju Sravan Kumar as the party’s candidate for the upcoming MLC elections under the MLA quota. Sravan, currently serving as the official spokesperson of BRS, is scheduled to file his nomination on Monday.

The Telangana Assembly is set to conduct elections for five MLC seats under the MLA quota. Based on the numerical strength in the Assembly, the Congress is expected to secure four seats, while BRS is likely to win one. The Congress has already finalized its candidates—Addanki Dayakar, Kethavath Shankar Naik, and Vijayashanti—while the nominee for the CPI, its alliance partner, is yet to be announced.
Reports indicate that BRS may field two candidates in the elections. Clarity on the matter is expected once the nomination process concludes on Monday. The Telangana Assembly comprises 117 members, with each MLC candidate requiring the support of at least 21 MLAs to secure victory.
