Hyderabad: In a scathing critique of the Telangana budget, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) condemned the government’s fiscal plan as a setback for the people of Telangana. Speaking at the assembly’s media point, KCR accused the government of betraying the state’s farmers and failing to deliver on promises.
“This budget has dashed the hopes of the Telangana people,” KCR said. He claimed that the current administration has undermined farmers by imposing restrictions on promised assurances and criticized the lack of clarity surrounding various schemes. Notably, he pointed out that the sheep rearing scheme, intended to support Yadavs, has been discontinued and that the Dalit Bandhu scheme is absent from the budget.
KCR also expressed concern over the lack of support for fishermen and the absence of new welfare initiatives. He dismissed claims of Rs 1 lakh crore being allocated to women as misleading, and criticized the administration for not providing clear policies on agriculture, industry, and IT.
“The government has deceived farmers and artisans. The so-called budget speech feels more like a rhetoric than a substantive financial plan,” KCR remarked. He promised to address these issues further and expressed his determination to hold the government accountable in the future.
