HYDERABAD: Under the leadership of MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha, a large number of student leaders formally joined Telangana Jagruthi on Monday. Welcoming them with party stoles, Kavitha appealed to the student community to take an active role in the ongoing struggle for a socially just Telangana.
Addressing the gathering, Kavitha highlighted the pivotal role students played during the Telangana statehood movement and urged them to once again take the lead—this time in achieving social justice. She criticized the central government for keeping the Backward Classes (BC) reservation bills pending and said conducting local body elections without implementing 42% BC reservations would be unacceptable. “We will not remain silent if elections are held without proper reservations,” she warned.
Kavitha also launched a scathing attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, stating that he is “struggling to function without Rahul Gandhi’s presence.” She accused the CM of prioritizing Delhi visits over addressing public issues. “He studied in RSS schools, trained in TDP colleges, and is now doing a job in Congress,” she quipped, adding that he has failed to secure even passing marks in governance.
She further claimed Revanth Reddy has made over 50 visits to Delhi and has not yet managed to form a complete cabinet. Calling him the weakest CM in Telangana’s history, Kavitha alleged that the Chief Minister is mortgaging Telangana’s self-respect in Delhi.
