Hyderabad: In a dramatic turn in Telangana politics, BRS MLC Kavitha has resigned from both the party and her legislative position following her suspension on charges of anti-party activities. She had earlier stated she would not join any existing political party, fueling speculation that she may launch her own outfit.

According to sources, Kavitha recently held a closed-door meeting with her close associates and Jagruthi leaders to gauge support. She reportedly directed her aides to identify disgruntled BRS leaders and former MLAs who feel sidelined, while also planning to reach out to activists from the Telangana statehood movement, urging them to align with Jagruthi.

Political circles are abuzz with reports that Kavitha is considering the name “Telangana Bahujan Rashtra Samithi” for her proposed party and may launch it by Diwali. Analysts warn her moves could cause significant damage to BRS. Addressing the media after her suspension, Kavitha alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched to target her father, former CM KCR, and questioned how her activities could be deemed anti-party when she has always fought for the people.

Observers note that while several leaders in undivided Andhra Pradesh—including Marri Chenna Reddy, Tulla Devender Goud, Chiranjeevi, Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, Vijayashanti, and YS Sharmila—floated parties that eventually disappeared, only BRS and Jana Sena succeeded in consolidating power. Whether Kavitha can emerge as a decisive force in state politics remains to be seen.
