Kalvakuntla Kavitha, President of Telangana Jagruthi and former MLC, has announced plans to launch a new political party. The party’s official name, Telangana Praja Jagruthi, will be unveiled on April 25. The launch ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at the Adwaya Convention Center in Muneerabad near Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road, where the party flag will be hoisted. On the same day, a workers’ meeting will outline the party flag, agenda, and rules.
Kavitha stated that the new party will prioritize youth and women. She emphasized that the need for the party arose to achieve social welfare and overall development in Telangana, noting that past demands for water, funds, and appointments have not been fulfilled. She added that the party aims to bring positive change, particularly for daughters, and highlighted that passing the BC Bill would be possible through their efforts.
Calling for broad support, Kavitha invited BCs, Dalits, Tribals, and minorities to participate in the launch event. She asserted that the party is not just “another party” but aspires to become the number one party in Telangana. She said the party will work inspired by Lord Sri Rama and guided by principles and ideals, with internal discussions to decide on her electoral constituencies.
Kavitha described Telangana Jagruthi as 95% a regional, grassroots-focused party that will actively address public issues. Criticizing MP Arvind’s performance, she claimed responsibility for railway overbridge delays and questioned his accomplishments, adding that she will engage in both lobbying in Delhi and grassroots-level work as required to advance the party’s agenda.
