Hyderabad: K. Kavitha, President of Telangana Jagruthi and MLC, launched a scathing attack on the BRS-affiliated union TBGKS, declaring that it has no chance of winning the upcoming Singareni Collieries Company Limited elections. Speaking at a joint meeting of the Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) and Telangana Jagruthi at the Jagruthi office in Hyderabad, she criticized TBGKS for failing to address workers’ issues and accused it of relying solely on past political support from K. Chandrashekar Rao. Kavitha asserted that only HMS is actively working for the welfare of Singareni workers and emphasized the need to fight for their rights.
Kavitha raised concerns over the rejection of 470 applications for hereditary jobs on the grounds of not passing Class 10, demanding that educational qualifications should not hinder hereditary employment opportunities. She also called for free medical services for workers and condemned the growing corruption in Singareni under the Indian National Congress government. Alleging that 25% commissions are being taken in every contract, with 10% going to Congress leaders, she warned that if corruption is not curbed, they would lay siege to the Singareni Bhavan and lodge complaints with the Central Bureau of Investigation and other central agencies.

Accusing Congress of being synonymous with corruption, Kavitha said that the party has failed to curb irregularities in Singareni, resulting in widespread mismanagement. She pledged to continue working for the welfare of workers and predicted that the HMS flag would fly high in the upcoming Singareni elections. Accepting her new role as Honorary President of HMS, she assured that she would uphold the honor bestowed on her and dedicate her efforts to improving the lives of Singareni workers.
