The campaign for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election is intensifying as political parties step up their activities ahead of polling. On Friday, Congress candidate Naveen Yadav filed his nomination papers, with AIMIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi joining him at a rally. AIMIM has officially extended its support to the Congress candidate in the by-election.
Speaking at the nomination event, Owaisi emphasized that the election reflects the sentiments of 3.9 lakh voters in Jubilee Hills and is not merely about a single candidate. He reiterated AIMIM’s backing for Naveen Yadav and criticized the BRS government for failing to deliver any significant development in the constituency over the past decade.
“Das saal poore barbaad ho gaye.”
గడిచిన పదేళ్లు జూబ్లీహిల్స్ అంతగా అభివృద్ధికి నోచుకోలేదు

Owaisi noted that while BRS secured 37 percent of votes in the previous assembly election, its share dropped to 15 percent in parliamentary elections within five months, with much of the lost support going to the BJP. He called on AIMIM workers and Telangana voters to check BJP’s growth in the state.
Referring to internal BRS dynamics, Owaisi claimed that the by-election would not have been necessitated if the party had fielded Maganti Gopinath, citing his poor health in 2023, which was known to the party leadership. AIMIM confirmed that it will not contest the Jubilee Hills seat directly, focusing instead on supporting Congress in this key contest.
