The crucial US–Iran peace talks held in Pakistan aimed at easing escalating tensions have ended in failure, with US Vice President J.D. Vance confirming that no agreement was reached after nearly 21 hours of marathon negotiations conducted over two days.
Addressing the media after the conclusion of the talks, Vance stated that Iran did not accept the strict conditions and “red lines” set by the United States, adding that Washington is returning without any deal as Tehran refused to agree to the proposed terms.

He further remarked that the breakdown of the talks would have a greater negative impact on Iran, which he described as already being economically and militarily weakened, warning that its refusal to comply with the conditions could pose risks to its future stability, while reiterating that the US administration under President Donald Trump would not alter its stance.
J.D. Vance also expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for facilitating the negotiations, particularly appreciating the efforts of the Pakistani Prime Minister and the Army Chief for their role in arranging and supporting the high-level diplomatic engagement.
